GRADES
Two of the most common grades of stainless steel are 304 and 316. 304 and 304L are the most widely used grades for stainless steel flat bars as they are very versatile, easily formed to shapes and offer excellent corrosion resistance and weldability, while also maintaining their durability. For coastal and marine environments, grades 316 and 316L are often favoured due to their superior corrosion resistance and are mostly effective in acidic settings. Stainless steel grade 316 is higher strength and less malleable than stainless steel grade 304, with the ability to maintain its properties in cryogenic or high temperatures.
