Stainless steel channels, also known as stainless steel U channels or stainless steel C channels, are general purpose extrusions that are widely used as structural support in both commercial and industrial applications. Stainless steel channel has high resistance to rust and corrosion, thus making it a great choice for construction and structural applications. Stainless steel channel also has good machinability and high tensile strength for fabrication jobs. The high temperature resistance makes stainless steel channel ideal for use in cryogenic and high temperature processing applications.
Uses of stainless steel channel include structural supports, construction, medical and pharmaceutical, manufacturing, chemical, waste treatment, aerospace, food processing and cryogenic applications.
The common grades of stainless steel channels used are 304 and 316. 304 and 304L are the most frequently used grades for stainless steel channels as they are resistant to corrosion under different industrial environment. Stainless steel grade 304 can be easily formed and welded by all common techniques, while also maintaining its durability. Stainless steel grades 316 and 316L are often favoured in coastal and marine environments as they have proven to withstand exceptional resistance in acidic and hard water areas. Stainless steel grade 316 has greater tensile strength and is less malleable than stainless steel grade 304, with the ability to maintain its properties in cryogenic or high temperatures.
Other stainless steel channel sizes and grades are available upon request. You can request to cut your stainless steel channel down to size.
